    Manufacturing PMI in Australia increased to 52.10 in September from 51.70 in August of 2015. Manufacturing PMI in Australia averaged 49.65 from 2001 until 2015, reaching an all time high of 62.13 in May of 2002 and a record low of 30.86 in February of 2009. Manufacturing PMI in Australia is reported by the Australian Industry Group. AIG Manufacturing PMI Index measures the performance of the manufacturing sector and is derived from a survey of 200 industrial companies. It is composite index based on the diffusion indices for production, new orders, deliveries, inventories and employment with varying weights. A reading above 50 indicates an expansion of the manufacturing sector compared to the previous month; below 50 represents a contraction; while 50 indicates no change.
