FXStreet (Delhi) – Craig Nicol, Research Analyst at Deutsche Bank, notes that yesterday evening, ECB President Mario Draghi did little to move the dial following comments which were largely a repeat of what we heard post the ECB meeting nearly 3 weeks ago.

    Key Quotes

“Draghi reiterated that ‘the degree of monetary policy accommodation will need to be re-examined at the Governing Council’s December meeting’ and that the Council is willing and able to act by using all the instruments available within its mandate if warranted in order to maintain an appropriate degree of monetary accommodation.”

“This came after the ECB President warned that even though domestic demand remains resilient, downside risks are being created, affecting the outlook for growth and inflation as a result of concerns over growth prospects in emerging markets and other external factors.”
