FXStreet (Mumbai) - The harmonised index of consumer prices for Germany rose by 0.2% in October 2015. The index remained unchanged in October 2015 compared with September 2015. Consumer prices in Germany were 0.3% higher in October 2015 compared to October 2014. The inflation rate which is measured by the consumer price index was slightly up on the last few months. The prices of energy (total) were down 0.8% from a month earlier. The development of energy prices had a downward effect on the overall inflation rate in October 2015. In October 2015, the prices of both motor fuels (–13.1%) and household energy (–6.5%) were considerably down from a year earlier. Excluding energy prices, the inflation rate in October 2015 would have been higher (+1.4%). Food prices rose 1.6% in October 2015 compared with October 2014. The price increased for the third consecutive month. The decrease in energy prices was almost offset by the development of food prices (+0.5%). The prices of goods (total) were down 0.8% in October 2015 compared with October 2014, while prices of services were up 1.2%.
