Broadcaster’s shares among worst performers on FTSE 100 despite 18% rise in pre-tax profit and special dividend boost

Shares in ITV were among the worst performers on the FTSE 100, despite rising profits, a special dividend and ever-present speculation of buyers waiting in the wings.

Shareholders were handed a one-off windfall of 10p a share, or £400m overall, on top of the full-year dividend of 6p, itself a 28% increase on last year’s payout.
