    Coincident Index in Japan decreased to 112.50 in August from 113.10 in July of 2015. Coincident Index in Japan averaged 104.40 from 1985 until 2015, reaching an all time high of 120.80 in October of 1990 and a record low of 79 in March of 2009. Coincident Index in Japan is reported by the Cabinet Office, Japan. Coincident Index correlates with the business cycle, and is used to identify the current state of the economy. In general, increasing coincident index shows that the economy is in an expansion phase, and decreasing coincident index reflects that the economy is in a contraction phase. The index is calculated using month-over-month percentage changes in 11 leading indicators, 11 coincident indicators, and 6 lagging indicators.
