    The Nikkei Japan Services PMI decreased to 51.40 in September from 53.70 August of 2015 and below market forecasts. Business activity growth weakened, alongside a further easing in the rate of expansion in new orders. In contrast, employment growth resumed, having declined slightly in the prior month. Despite a lower figure, the average business activity reading in the third quarter (52.1) was the highest since the final quarter of 2013 (53.1). Services Pmi in Japan averaged 50.96 Index Points from 2013 until 2015, reaching an all time high of 55.30 Index Points in October of 2013 and a record low of 46.40 Index Points in April of 2014. Services Pmi in Japan is reported by Markit Economics. The Japan Services PMI (Purchasing Managers' Index) is based on data collected from a representative panel of over 400 private service sector companies based in Japan. The index tracks variables such as sales, employment, inventories and prices. A reading above 50 indicates that the services sector is generally expanding; below 50 indicates that it is generally declining.
