UK: Further improvements in jobs market in 2016

    FXStreet (Delhi) – James Knightley, Senior Economist at ING, suggests that UK’s employment is rising and unemployment is falling and while wages are somewhat volatile right now, we expect further improvements in 2016.

    “The UK jobs market remains very robust with employment at new peak levels and the number of job vacancies (736k) very similar to the number of people registered as unemployed, claiming unemployment benefit (795.5k). This lack of slack in the jobs market has been putting some upward pressure on pay, but this has partially reversed in the past couple of months.”
