    Total construction activity in the United States increased by 0.7 percent month-over-month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1,086.2 billion in August of 2015 from $1,079.1 billion in the previous month. It was the highest level since June of 2008, boosted by a surge in outlays for residential projects. Construction Spending in the United States averaged 0.45 percent from 1964 until 2015, reaching an all time high of 5.90 percent in April of 1978 and a record low of -4.80 percent in February of 1975.
