Research Team at Investec, notes that another US presidential primary saw underdogs – Republican Ted Cruz and Democrat Bernie Sanders – pick up wins in Wisconsin against front runners Trump and Clinton respectively.

    Key Quotes

“While recent comments from Trump have dented his momentum and ripped the Republican race wide open (raising the chances of a contested national convention in July), the Democratic race seems more clear cut. Despite Sanders’ recent winning streak, Clinton now has 1,274 pledged delegates to Sanders’ 1,025. When including super-delegates, party officials and leaders who can back any candidate, Clinton’s lead is 1,743 to Sanders’ 1,056 with 2,383 needed for the nomination.”
