FXStreet (Mumbai) - US unemployment claims for the week ending December 18 fell to 267k, lower than 271k registered previously. It also came in lower than market expectations. Continuous claims for week ending December 11 also dropped to 2.195 million, lower than the earlier reading of 2.238 million. Seasonally adjusted initial claims was 267,000, a decrease of 5,000 from the previous week's revised level. The 4-week moving average was 272,500, an increase of 1,750 from the previous week's revised average. There were no special factors impacting this week's initial claims.
